Details about the Land Navigation course

Basic Land Navigation Course description:

There is a reason why Map and Compass is a part of “10 essentials” list that you absolutely must have when you are heading to the wilderness.

Google Maps are great until you run out of batteries or drop your electronic device into the water. But if you know how to use a map and compass – you will make it back to tell your story.

Our Land Navigation Course based on the best courses that has been used in US Military, only not that physically challenged.

We place a strong emphasis on teaching you the fundamentals of using a map and compass.  Start by mastering basics, like understanding the compass, reading a topographic map, the importance of declination, and use terrain association methods to navigate. Yes, we teach how to use related tools such as GPSes, Offline Maps, and other resources.  Then, as you master a theory, we will send you into the mountains, so that you can apply your knowledge in the field.  This will allow you to become comfortable to conduct route planning and calculate travel times, shooting azimuth, hold the bearings, do a pace count, understanding terrain features, and learn and practice other necessary skills.

If you are a beginner hunter, hiker, outdoorsman, adventurer or explorer, military or civilian, search and rescue, or simply bored – this course is for you!

Learn from the best and explore the world with confidence!
